Philadelphia Eagles versus Seattle Seahawks: 5 Bold predictions
Carson Wentz turns in the best performance by a quarterback in the Wild Card Round.
They don’t give out MVP trophies for the first round of the playoffs, but Wentz will be the topic of discussion on every sports network on Sunday night when you wake up on Monday morning.
At the time of this story’s publishing, all of the results of every game won’t be in, but here’s a bold prediction to kill all bold predictions. Once the Wild Card Weekend is over, Wentz will have the best stat line of all of the eight starting quarterbacks.
Here’s how it looks. He tops out with his usual 40 pass attempts. He competes just under 70 percent. He finishes just north of 300 yards passing. He throws three touchdowns, one of which comes by way of the quarterback sneak.
Philly’s defense has been stout against the run. That will continue on Sunday. The Eagles offensive line will continue to be dominant in the running game.
The Eagles will continue their brilliance on third down, in the red zone, and they’ll dominate time of possession. Does anyone need a score? How about 31-17 in favor of Philly as a tight game is broken open late? Then, we can celebrate briefly and get ready for the Divisional Round. ‘The East is not enough’ remember?
