As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Philadelphia Eagles strong safety Malcolm Jenkins has said he will not return to the team next season without a new contract. Following Philly’s second 17-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in a month, ’27’ didn’t waste any time in making his stance known. “I won’t be back on the same deal. That won’t happen”.

The 11-year veteran racked up 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery during 2019’s season. A team captain and one of the leaders on defense, Jenkins provided a degree of continuity for the Eagles’ secondary this season, which was otherwise bereft of a stable starting lineup.
Jenkins also played a wide variety of roles on the defense, including strong safety, slot cornerback and filling the role of being n extra pass-rusher in blitz situations, but he’s the 11th highest-paid safety in the NFL, according to Overthecap.com. Let’s break things down a little further.
