After everything that you’ve seen over the past season, would you still welcome Jadeveon Clowney on this team if you had the option to make the decision?

Days have gone by. Philadelphia Eagles fans have had the opportunity to calm down, but no one has. Following a 17-9 loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks, there’s still an empty filling with the media and within the fan base. Jadeveon Clowney‘s knockout shot on Carson Wentz, in essence, ruined Philly’s season.

No flag was thrown. He won’t be suspended. He may not be fined, and Eagles fans aren’t happy about it at all.

Carson Wentz could have gotten the ‘Birds’ eight points or more on Sunday had he been available, couldn’t he? The Eagles would have won the Wild Card Game had he played right? We’ll never know the answers to those questions, but it’s hard to convince any die-hard Eagles fan that Philly wouldn’t have won if ’11’ was upright.

Instead, we all turn the page on another season with one eye on the ‘Birds’ and the other on what the rivals are doing. Now, the job is all about getting better and what should be done with this roster. Once upon a time, Jadeveon Clowney was a hot topic. Half of the fans wanted him. The other half wanted nothing to do with him.

In the Eagles’ final game of the season they were beaten, thanks in large part to two Seahawks adversaries that could have been allies, the aforementioned Jadeveon Clowney and rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.

Prior to 2019’s regular season, Clowney made it clear that he wanted to leave the Houston Texans and also made it clear that he wanted to go to one of two teams, Seattle or Philadelphia. You know how that ended up. In 2019’s NFL Draft, the Eagles selected JJ Arcega-Whiteside in the second-round, 57th overall, to help satisfy their issues at wide receiver. The Hawks took Metcalf seven picks later. Metcalf outplayed Arcega-Whiteside in every way imaginable.

There’s nothing that the Eagles can do about the Metcalf selection now, but as far as Clowney is concerned, Philly may get another crack at him in free agency.

So with that being said, ask yourself a question. Sure, you’re ticked right now. Everyone is, but with all of the needs that the Eagles have, what would you do if you were Howie Roseman? Would you let bygones be bygones and add Clowney to the roster or would you ignore him for a second time? The debate table is wide open for this one.
