3. Jordan Howard

A few months ago, Jordan Howard appeared to be a popular selection in regards to upcoming free agents that would be worth bringing back another year in 2020 to keep the running back position in better shape.

But after seeing how things played out in the final months, Howard seems like a player Philadelphia would be just fine without moving forward for numerous reasons.

For starters, the Eagles struck gold with rookie Miles Sanders in the second half of the regular season after the Penn State product made it clear he is capable of handling the duties of being the top running back on offense.

Take Sanders’ emergence into consideration with Philadelphia also finding a hidden gem in Boston Scott, and it’s easy to see why Howard is a strong candidate to let walk in the upcoming free agency period.

Plus, something was clearly going on with Howard’s shoulder since the injury that took place in November and appeared to only be minor at first resulted in the Eagles missing their running back for six games.

Even when Howard returned for the regular-season finale and playoffs, he still didn’t receive a single carry, which just seems odd given his capabilities when healthy.
