. Mackensie Alexander. 10. player. 60. .

The Minnesota Vikings had a few issues with keeping opposing offenses from moving the ball through the air from time to time during the 2019 regular season. It’s easy to blame a lot of that on Xavier Rhodes who clearly regressed and finally showed some signs of being mortal.

The Vikings defense is still stout enough to get the job done as evidenced by their spirited performance over the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round.

The secondary can be had from time to time, but don’t blame much of that on one of the best slot cover guys in football. Mackensie Alexander was solid after missing the opening week of the season, racking up 37 total tackles and an interception and batting down five passes over the course of 15 games with four starts.

Brian Poole. 9. player. 30. . .

Brian Poole was one of the best players on a bad team all season. While Le’Veon Bell, Sam Darnold, Robby Anderson, and Jamal Adams get the lion’s share of the attention (and for good reason), Poole played his part quietly.

He was the best cover guy for the New York Jets all season, playing the majority of his snaps in the slot. In 14 games, with ten starts, he racked up 58 total tackles. 47 were of the solo variety, and he packed off a pass, batted down five more, and forced a fumble for good measure.
