3. Blake Bortles

Just like the situation with Mannion, Blake Bortles was hoping a year under McVay would help the former first-round pick land a starting job with another team during the 2020 season, which unfortunately may not be the case.

When looking around at teams in need of help at the quarterback position, those teams seem more likely to go with another free agent or simply a rookie in the upcoming draft class.

At least with Bortles, the one intriguing factor that he can bring to the table is his starting experience from all the years spent as the starter with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

No one needs to remind Bortles just how much of a bust he was for the most part during his time in Jacksonville, and joining the Rams was clearly the right decision since a fresh start on a new team seemed necessary.

Since Bortles was always considered to be a one-year rental in Los Angeles, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ended up elsewhere for the 2020 season.

Whether this means the Eagles would express any interest in Bortles, well at least one thing would be certain, which would be from an experience perspective, this would be an upgrade at the moment over Sudfeld at backup.
