MOST IMPROVED: GREG WARD. . player. 54. . .

Eagles fans have been clamoring for more Greg Ward, and in 2019, they finally got that wish granted. It’s been a long road for the former Houston Cougars quarterback, but the man who came to the Eagles as an undrafted free agent and spent five tours of duty on the team’s practice squad saw some of that broken up by a successful showing in the Alliance of American Football, which has since suspended operations.

He was promoted to the Eagles active roster twice in 2019, but this wasn’t Paul Turner. This wasn’t all of those dud elevations. Ward showed he belonged in the starting lineup, making play after play and hauling in huge catches week after week.

None were bigger than his game-winner versus the Washington Redskins, where he beat a man that we’ve been told is among the game’s best for several seasons, Josh Norman. That isn’t a bad way to haul in your first-ever NFL touchdown reception.
