2019 Philadelphia Eagles team awards: Best players, best moments
Though we’d all love to say that Eagles defensive end Shareef Miller was Philly’s rookie of the year on that side of the ball, we all know that isn’t the case. Miller played a grand total of two snaps, and that came on special teams. He didn’t register one tackle in his first season with the ‘Birds’.
All hope wasn’t lost though. We saw defensive tackle Anthony Rush fill in once depth became an issue across the interior of the defensive line. He racked up nine total tackles (six were solo) in a reserve role, but it was the efforts of Craig James that earn him the title of Philly’s Defensive Rookie of the Year.
In all, he tallied 15 total tackles (12 were solo) in a reserve role. That’s more tackles than Timmy Jernigan and Cre’Von LeBlanc had for those who are keeping score.
