DeVonta Smith‘s scouting reports all say some of the same things, but the theories about his draft position are all over the place. Some say he’s a day-one guy. Some have him going on day two somewhere around the third round.

The measurements look good. He’s shown speed, route-running, and superb ball skills. He stands at six-foot-one and tips the scales at 175 pounds. Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs will get much of the burn as far as Bama receivers go, but Smith shouldn’t be ignored. He’ll be a nice investment for any NFL squad that takes a chance on him.

Honorable mention: K.J. Hamler, Gabriel Davis, Tyler Johnson

K.J. Hamler is a five-foot-nine and 176-pound burner that might get a few looks from Philly after they found a goldmine in Miles Sanders a season ago. Some have even compared him to DeSean Jackson. Gabriel Davis impressed at Central Florida and should get some looks after hauling in 72 receptions for 1,241 yards with 12 touchdowns in 2019.

Tyler Johnson isn’t as fast as Eagles fans would like their next receiver to be, but he has nice hands. That alone places him a few notches over a lot of what ‘Birds’ fans and the Philly media has seen all too often over the course of the past two seasons. Keep your eyes peeled Eagles fans. There’s going to be a lot of talk about all of these guys between now and April.
