Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2020 mock draft following Divisional Round
By Dan Parzych
Round 3: Central Florida WR Gabriel Davis
No one needs to explain just how frustrating it’s been to watch the Eagles fail to take advantage of talented wide receivers in previous drafts since they always seem to make the wrong choice.
Whether it happens to be Mack Hollins from a few years ago or even last spring with JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Philadelphia better do their homework with this year’s class since there’s a good chance they will look to the draft to add another wideout or two.
While there’s always the chance of the Eagles using one of their top two picks on the position, it certainly wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world if they decided to wait until the third round since there could be plenty of sleepers for Day 2.
Take a look at Gabriel Davis from Central Florida for instance, who is coming off an impressive 2019 campaign with the Knights after catching 72 passes for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Davis has the kind of speed that would make for a great fit in Philadelphia’s passing game, and what makes this selection even more intriguing is how much he could benefit from playing alongside an already impressive group of receivers.
Assuming Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are healthy enough to suit up once September arrives, Davis could even make for a great replacement in the No. 3 spot if Nelson Agholor is out of the picture as well.
