10 Philadelphia Eagles NCAA prospects who could replace Jordan Howard
If the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t interested in extending Jordan Howard, there will be a ton of running backs in the upcoming draft who could serve as suitable replacements.
Let’s all revisit the position that the Philadelphia Eagles were in with their running backs at the beginning of the 2019 campaign. They decided, after the preseason, to say farewell to their leading rusher from 2018, Josh Adams. Wendell Smallwood and Donnel Pumphrey, two guys that they used draft selections on, were gone. Jordan Howard joined the team by way of a trade with the Chicago Bears.
The incumbent was Miles Sanders, but two of the vets that they hoped would play huge roles, Corey Clement and Darren Sproles, would both see their seasons end early because of injury.
For Howard, it was a rough go. He’d get a small measure of revenge against his former comrades when Chicago stopped by Lincoln Financial Field for a visit, but though he would return for the regular-season finale, a ‘stinger’ would virtually end his season.
Now, the question is whether or not the Eagles should re-sign him. If you think that they shouldn’t, there will be options at running back both in free agency and within the 2020 draft class. Let’s all take a look at the latter.
Najee Harris elected to return to the Alabama Crimson Tide for one more season. With that being said, here are ten prospects who would provide some youth and energy for an Eagles offense that desperately needs some.
