He’s in, and it’s about time. Philadelphia Eagles legend Harold Carmichael is finally going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but that isn’t the only reason Birds fans love him.

It’s about doggone time! Picture Brian Dawkins saying that. Cool, huh? 2020’s second full week has been filled with rain in many parts of the country and 40-degree weather in Philly, but on January 15th, it’s got to feel like it’s 75 degrees with no humidity or a single cloud in the sky if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Harold Carmichael finally gets his nod as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Six months ago, ITI published its list of 20 Philadelphia Eagles who deserve Hall of Fame consideration. We can slim that list down to 19 names now. Here’s the announcement.

In honor of its’ 100th season, the NFL announced that its 2020 Hall of Fame class would be an expanded one. The antennas of Birds fans were raised as many wondered whether or not the likes of Carmichael, Wilbert Montgomery, and Randall Cunningham would finally take their place among a group of football immortals.

The finalists were named. Four Eagles were included, and now, it’s official. The man who originally made ’17’ famous in Philly is going to Canton. Wait! How is his number not retired? Well, that’s another story for another day.
