Philadelphia Eagles fans have plenty of reasons to be cheering on Andy Reid this weekend with the Kansas City Chiefs on the verge of earning a trip to the Super Bowl.

As heartbreaking as it is for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans to know they won’t be participating in the NFC Championship this weekend, at least there are plenty of reasons to keep an eye on the other conference in the AFC Championship.

Thanks to an amazing comeback in the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are now one win away from earning a trip to Miami for Super Bowl 54.

Defeating the red-hot Tennessee Titans will be far from easy after seeing how Mike Vrabel‘s squad has already pulled off incredible wins on the road over the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens, but the Chiefs will be ready for the challenge.

If anything, Kansas City will most likely be feeling extra motivated to make sure they finish on the winning end this time around in the AFC Championship after coming up short against New England one year ago.

Even though Reid failed to provide the Eagles with the ultimate accomplishment of winning a Super Bowl during the 14 years spent in the City of Brotherly Love as head coach, fans will always have a special place in their heart for the current Chiefs coach.

Obviously, Philadelphia arguably should have been able to win at least one Super Bowl title during Reid’s tenure, but the one appearance in the big game in 2005 along with five trips to the NFC Championship shows how much excitement there was at times.

Once Reid was let go following a disappointing 2012 season, there were plenty of fans who felt bad about the move, but also knew it was for the best.

And when seeing how Reid has made a name for himself since then as head coach of the Chiefs, everything seemed to work out for the best with both parties since the Eagles would eventually go on to win their first Super Bowl under Doug Pederson.

Unless Philadelphia happens to be facing Kansas City, it’s pretty easy for Eagles fans to root for Reid with the Chiefs in situations like Sunday during the AFC Championship since there will be absolutely no impact on their current situation.

Similar to his situation with the Eagles, most football fans assumed that Reid would have been able to earn a Super Bowl title with the Chiefs by now when looking at all of the talented teams he’s been fortunate enough to work with.

Time will tell when it comes to determining whether this season will finally be the one for Reid, but at least for this weekend, Eagles fans have a reason to be rooting for the Chiefs and their former head coach.
