10. Brian Lewerke

As a sophomore, Brian Lewerke appeared to be on his way to eventually becoming a top quarterback in the draft when the time was right after throwing 20 touchdown passes compared to just seven interceptions.

But after seeing Lewerke’s numbers from the previous two seasons at Michigan State, it’s clear the Spartans quarterback will be a work in progress once he makes the transition to the NFL, that is assuming a team is willing to give him a shot.

The 25 touchdowns compared to 24 interceptions from the last two seasons will seem like a concern to most teams, but Lewerke has also proven on numerous occasions the big plays can be made when the proper protection is there.

Before some Philadelphia fans criticize a selection like this, the good news is if the interest were there for the Eagles, Lewerke will most likely still be available in the later rounds, and could give the coaching staff an intriguing project to work with.

Like most rookies entering their first NFL season, Lewerke will obviously have numerous areas in need of improvement, but hopefully some of these can be addressed once it becomes official, whether it happens to be on the Eagles or another team.
