6. Nate Stanley

From 2017-18, Nate Stanley combined for 52 touchdown passes and just 16 interceptions while running Iowa’s offense to make it seem pretty clear it was only a matter of time before some team ended up giving him a shot in the NFL.

Watching Stanley take somewhat of a step back this past season with only 16 touchdown passes to go along with 2,951 yards may seem concerning, but at least the seven interceptions plays into how great of a decision maker he can be under center.

With a similar approach in the NFL, Stanley seems like the kind of young quarterback that would embrace the opportunity to learn from a professional team, and could become a reliable backup for years to come, assuming he doesn’t shine enough to become a starter.

Stanley certainly isn’t as mobile as other quarterbacks from the 2020 class, and would arguably be more effective with better scrambling skills, but at least he makes up for it in other areas.

Looking at Stanley’s accuracy or footwork in the pocket, these skills would still provide NFL teams with plenty to work with on offense, and arguably already has an edge compared to other quarterbacks already discussed on this list.
