Miles Sanders made a recent appearance on Colin Cowherd’s show to discuss the Eagles, Carson Wentz, Doug Pederson, and the fans.

At times, FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd is public enemy number one in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’. He’s often criticized the football IQ of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ fan base. He was very demonstrative about the idea that anyone who was on Nick Foles‘ side in the Foles versus Carson Wentz debate was off base. He’s been staunch in his theory of the stability of the organization and how he admires Doug Pederson, Jeffrey Lurie, and Howie Roseman. Recently, he brought Miles Sanders on his show.

Cowherd’s the creator and host of his highly-popular radio show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, which debuted in 2004 on ESPN and began its run on FOX in 2015. The show began live television airings in 2008.

While some radio shows would be happy with dominating the airwaves in their city, Cowherd’s popular on both coasts, and sports talk show hosts everywhere spend much of their time hoping that their shows can achieve the popularity of The Herd.

Here are a couple of highlights from his recent sitdown with Miles Sanders, star running back of the ‘Birds’.

1. Do guys like Carson Wentz?

It’s been the topic of discussion for years now. Do guys like Carson Wentz? Sanders gives Philadelphia’s QB1 some well-deserved credit.

"I believe everybody likes him. I love him, especially (with) the way things went this season. You know, with Alshon going down, DeSean Jackson. Then, Nelly was like on and off with his injury so all he had was really to be safe was Dallas and Zach at the time… It didn’t matter who was out there. He gave us confidence to go out there and ball out for him."

2. How does Doug Pederson differ from James Franklin?

As many of you know, Sanders is a Pennsylvania guy who sat behind Saquon Barkley and eventually got his shot with the Penn State Nittany Lions. His former team and coach are the subject of controversy these days, but Sanders loves both. Here’s his answer to Cowherd’s question about the similarities of his current coach to his former one.

"There really (aren’) any differences really. (They’re) real similar. Both are players coaches. They like to communicate with us all of the time. Doug is a real cool dude. He loves football. He loves coaching the game, and Coach Franklin’s the same way. He’ loves his players. (He’s) always doing stuff for the players… He never puts himself before us. That’s what I like about both of them."

3. Can you sense how important the Eagles are to the city?

You can’t talk about football and the Eagles without bringing up the fans, can you? Here’s Sanders’ take on the best fans in sports and what this team means to the city of Philadelphia.

"Everybody’s watching the Eagles on Sundays, whether it’s home or away, but the home games are electric. It’s kind of similar to Penn State games, you know? When we have a home game there, it’s going to be rocking, and when we lose, we can feel the type of energy that they have. They don’t like us (when that happens)- Sanders and Cowherd chuckle jokingly – That’s just the love of the game that all of the fans have in that city and how important (that we are to them)."

Enough said. Well done Mr. Sanders. Well done.
