If you’re still not convinced that Caldwell is a quarterback guru after all of that and after everything you’ve seen from Manning and Flacco while they were under his tutelage, just look at what he did when he took over reigns with the Detroit Lions when he became their head coach in 2014.
In his first season as the team’s head man, quarterback Matthew Stafford earned his first and only Pro Bowl selection and led his team to an 11-5 record.
The following season, Stafford had the best outing of his career, posting a career-high in completion percentage with a 67.2 mark while tossing 32 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions.
Now just imagine what this guy could do with a talent like Wentz. If Caldwell could turn Flacco and Stafford into premiere passers, there’s no doubt he could develop Wentz into an elite quarterback. Caldwell would take this offense to the next level if he’s hired. Let’s just hope the Eagles see it that way as well.
