Former Philadelphia Eagles, the media, and ‘Birds’ fans everywhere continue to celebrate Andy Reid’s opportunity to finally cement his legacy with a Super Bowl win.

It’s been a long time coming. We all know that. Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere have been very vocal about whether or not they’ll be rooting for former ‘Birds’ coach and current Kansas City Chiefs head man Andy Reid. We all know that. Most of us are also privy to knowing that the reasons Eagles fans have given for not supporting him are pretty silly.

“Well, he didn’t win a Super Bowl here” being among the most popular. Really? You do realize that you can argue that this team wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl without a certain recommendation by a certain former coach (or his decision to give Philly’s current coach an opportunity)?

Doug Pederson isn’t a head coach today if not for Andy Reid. Duce Staley probably isn’t coaching either. The same can be said for so many other guys who pace an NFL sideline on Thursday nights, Sundays, and on Monday nights. If you don’t know that, you may need to do a little studying, but that’s also another story for another day.

The point is, if you ask Doug Pederson why he’s where he is, he’s probably going to bring up ‘Big Red’. The same can be said for many of the NFL‘s other coaches and assistant coaches. We won’t even get into how many players he’s touched. That’s why the support is so great.

If you’re a casual fan, no one expects you to know that, but if you call yourself a die-hard fan, and you don’t see the gravity of this moment, you should probably re-evaluate yourself as a fan. Former Eagles who both played for him and fans who didn’t have taken to social media to show their support. Take a look.

Some Eagles fans get it, from the ones whose names we may never know to the ones who are known all over the globe.

So, here we are. The most exciting and bittersweet moment in pro football is upon us. On one hand, you know that this is the biggest moment in all of sports. On the other hand, we know there are 60 minutes of football left in the 2019-2020 season. Then, we have to wait until September to see football that counts again.

To some Eagles, it’s about a coach they love. To another, it’s about that coach and family. Take a look at this one.

The next time someone tells you that football is just a game, make sure that you bring this up. Go get ’em ‘Big Red’! This is your time!
