Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson has been added to the Pro Bowl roster.

As NFL fans, especially as Philadelphia Eagles, most of us could admit that the interest in watching the Pro Bowl is all but gone (if it ever existed at all), but it’s always cool to see that guys from your favorite team were voted in. On Tuesday morning, we learned that we can add Lane Johnson‘s name to the roster.

Kudos are definitely in order. Here are three reactions to the news.

1. Well, that took long enough.

As many of you know, the Pro Bowl roster changes between the time that its’ first introduced, and when the game is actually played. The biggest reason is the fact that injuries will prevent quite a few guys from participating, Philly’s Brandon Brooks for instance.

Then, there’s a certain game that’s played in February. Now, that the Pro Bowl is played on the weekend between the two that the AFC and NFC Championship Games and the Super Bowl are played on, the guys on the rosters of the Super Bowl’s two qualifying teams don’t participate. In this case, that opened ten roster spots.

2. Much of the football world continues to ignore Brandon Graham.

2020 Pro Bowlers Frank Clark, Mecole Hardman, Tyreek Hill, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Nick Bosa, Kyle Juszczyk, George Kittle and Richard Sherman now have to prepare for a more important game.

Johnson will spend this week getting ready for another Pro Bowl. For some reason, his teammate Brandon Graham won’t be joining him. He continues to be one of the best but most ignored talents in the game. He’s still waiting on his first nod, and it’s almost laughable now, with so many roster spots open, that he hasn’t been added to this year’s version.

3. We’re still not watching the game.

Despite all of its successes, one of the most obvious failures of the NFL is its inability to get anyone interested in its All-Star Game.

The fanfare that surrounds the NBA and MLB All-Star Games just doesn’t exist in the NFL world, and even though there are few Eagles that ‘Birds’ fans can tune in and support, it’s doubtful that this year’s version of the Pro Bowl is going to break any viewing records for television.
