The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to make an announcement that we’ve been waiting on for a month fairly soon.

It seems like it’s been forever since Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson and the team’s vice president and general manager Howie Roseman addressed the media and sparked a ton of discussions. Coach Pederson hinted there would be no coaching changes. Then, he waffled a little. That was January the 8th.

He fired his offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, Mike Groh and Carson Walch, a day later.

The announcements that Philly had vacancies at the defensive backs and defensive line coaching positions came soon thereafter as Cory Undlin left to become the Detroit Lions‘ defensive coordinator, and in a move that was a little more surprising than the others, Philly parted ways with Phillip Daniels.

Thanks to a report by NBC Sports Philly’s John Clark, we’ve learned that the announcements that we’ve been waiting for and that we’ve debated for almost a month now should come soon. Clark stated that the Eagles fans can ‘expect (for the team) to announce their coaching staff by the end of next week’, possibly Friday or so.

He also states the following:

"There may be a few interviews after Super Bowl. I’m told Doug Pederson has interviewed many candidates and has taken a very methodical approach to find the best coaches for his staff."

Seeing as how “Birds’ fans can’t get enough of their Eagles, most of us have followed everything related to this story pretty closely. The assumption by many is the Eagles have already hired Marquand Manuel to take over for Undlin (that’s an upgrade).

We’ve also heard that many of the plans to bring guys in that were serious considerations for Philly’s vacancy at offensive coordinator led to nothing, and even though nothing concrete proves this, there are a few rumors that Matt Burke may take over for Daniels.

That one is puzzling and concerning because Burke has no previous experience as a defensive line coach. Nothing’s been said at all about who’s been eyed to take over as wide receivers coach. We do know several candidates threw their own names in the hat. We’ll have to wait and see how things play out.
