Pick Analysis. Edge. 47. Scouting Report. Penn State. Yetur Gross-Matos. 23. player

In a way, it was weird not to watch the New England Patriots participate in this year’s Super Bowl, and while there is every reason to believe the team will continue to be a top contender in the AFC for years to come, there is still some work to address this offseason.

Despite all of the talk surrounding what the future holds for Tom Brady with the Patriots, it’s safe to assume that New England is going to figure out a way to bring him back since it would just seem odd to see the future Hall of Famer end up elsewhere for 2020.

But as this past season made clear, the Patriots will need their defense to continue to be one of the top units in the league if they really want to be viewed as a top contender once the 2020 season officially gets underway.

Even if there were times throughout this past season in which New England’s defense was dominant, the final stretch made it clear they could use some key additions before September arrives.

After looking at the kind of career Yetur Gross-Matos put together at Penn State, the edge rusher seems like the perfect project for Bill Belichick to work with moving forward.

Some Patriots fans may be critical over the thought of New England considering someone like Gross-Matos since he clearly needs to work on his pass-rushing skills, but the potential to develop makes it seem like this would be worth the risk.
