2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Eagles focus on safety with Grant Delpit
By Dan Parzych
First off, the Tennessee Titans deserve a ton of credit for making it all the way to the AFC Championship the way they did since the team appeared to be a lost cause back in October before making the switch to Ryan Tannehill at quarterback.
All due respect to Marcus Mariota since the former Oregon star has looked great at times over the years, but Tannehill clearly provided the necessary spark to help the Titans put together an incredible playoff run.
Moving forward, Tennessee will most likely do whatever it takes to keep Tannehill around, and while the team will also look to build a better offense to be better prepared for 2020 as well, the defense will also play a key factor in the team’s overall success.
Coming up short in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs was obviously frustrating since Patrick Mahomes is clearly on a completely different level, but the Titans’ defense deserves plenty of credit for their first two playoff games as well.
Keeping high-powered offenses in the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens during the playoffs was incredible to witness, but as far as needs for 2020 is concerned, cornerback is one position for Tennessee to focus on.
Jaylon Johnson may not be on the same level as some of the other top cornerbacks from this year’s draft class, but he has proven to be able to handle some of the bigger receivers in the NFL.
With all of the talent in the AFC South at wide receiver, Johnson could be an under the radar pick to help the Titans’ defense remain in great shape.
