. . Brian Lewerke. 4. player. 805.

Here’s a guy that could wind up being a very interesting talking point for the next three months. Quarterback Brian Lewerke, formerly of the Michigan State Spartans, is six-foot-three and tips the scales at 212 pounds. He’s projected to go on Day 3 od the April selection meeting.

To close his collegiate career, Lewerke’s numbers in 2019 were indicative of what we saw throughout his collegiate campaign.

He completed a so-so 59 percent of his passes, racking up 3,079 yards in the process, but his 17-to-13 touchdown-to-interception ratio isn’t going to make anyone stand up and cheer.

Fortunately for him, the final memory that we have of him at the collegiate level is one in which he and his Spartans made an appearance in the 2019 Pinstripe Bowl and won over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Lewerke won MVP honors and, during this game, surpassed former Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook to become the school’s all-time leader in total yards from scrimmage.

Don’t be surprised if he goes undrafted but winds up in someone’s camp as a guy who’s competing for a backup or emergency quarterback position.
