player. 817. . . . Grant Delpit. 1

If we’re discussing an accomplished class of future NFL safeties, Grant Delpit is, without question, the valedictorian. With him being the cream of this year’s crop, the theory is that he should go early, yet he’s actually been given second-round grades by a few NFL scouts.

He’s six-foot-three. He tips the scales at 208 pounds, and after registering 59 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and a sack in his final season with the LSU Tigers, he’s without question, the most pro-ready safety of anyone on this list. The eyeball test proves that if you look at his film.

. Xavier McKinney. 2. player. 829. .

Well, who didn’t think someone from the Alabama Crimson Tide was on the list? Xavier McKinney is a six-foot-one, 197-pound potential target that registered 95 tackles, three interceptions, three sacks, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in his final season in Tuscaloosa.

Some people don’t do that in a career. Let alone in college football’s best conference.

Here’s someone who can do it all. He can play at the line in the box. He can cover tight ends and some of the bigger wideouts. He can roam in the backend as the last line of defense.

He’s projected to come off of draft boards at the end of Round 1 or sometime during the second round of the selection meeting in April.
