The Philadelphia Eagles could opt out of their deal with Nigel Bradham in March. If they do so, they could find a replacement in the upcoming draft.

The words ‘football is a business’ have been uttered so many times that, at this point, restating that almost feels like an act of redundancy. Still, even with the being said, those words are just s accurate now as they were the first time that they were stated. Come March, the Philadelphia Eagles have a ton of roster decisions to make, one of which will be what to do with linebacker Nigel Bradham.

Since his arrival in 2016, Bradham’s done everything this team could have asked of him and more. When the curtain closed on the 2019-2020 season, he had played in and started 64 games as an Eagle, including the playoffs.

In those 64 starts, he’s registered 384 total tackles to go along with six sacks, two interceptions, 25 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns. Still, as productive as he’s been over the past few seasons, the Eagles have also expressed an interest in shaving some of their expensive salaries and getting younger.

Despite signing a five-year, $40 million contract that includes $14 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $5 million on March 14th of 2018, Bradham could see Philly opt-out of his deal this offseason.

Teams must designate franchise or transition players before 4:00 p.m. EST on March 10th. Philadelphia must exercise Bradham’s options for 2020 if they intend to do so before 4:00 p.m. EST on March 18th. If they don’t, they could find some prospects to develop in the 2020 NFL Draft.

It’s time the Eagles place more value on the linebacker position, and there are quite a few NCAA prospects who would upgrade their group immediately. Here are 15 of the best.
