1. A.J. McCarron

Depending on what approach the Eagles decide to take with Nate Sudfeld along with Josh McCown most likely heading towards retirement again, Philadelphia could be in search of adding another backup quarterback for the 2020 season.

Due to some of the previous injuries surrounding Carson Wentz, the Eagles realize the importance of making sure they have someone in the No. 2 spot that can be relied on if the opportunity to fill in were to present itself.

A.J. McCarron has struggled to find a consistent home over the last couple of seasons when taking into consideration that Houston marked his third team since 2017, but also the former Alabama star has proven to be reliable when needed.

Knowing the Texans, there’s a good chance the offense would love to keep McCarron around since Houston feels similar to the Eagles in making sure they have someone reliable in case Deshaun Watson were to suffer some sort of injury.

McCarron’s asking price will most likely be higher than some of the other quarterbacks across the NFL, but as previously mentioned with Wentz’s history of injuries, the Eagles could easily view this as one of those situations in which it would seem worth the money.
