5. Will Philly make a splash signing or trade for a cornerback?

As it always is, the cornerback position is the weakest link on this Eagles defense and one they have to fix not just for 2020’s season but going forward. If Philly can’t get it done, it won’t be because of a lack of resources.

You’ve heard the narrative so many times that you could probably write this part of the story yourself, but heading into another Eagles offseason, the ‘Birds’ have a potential ten picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they could wind up with more than $40 million to spend on available free agents.

The flexibility is unreal, but it only matters if the ‘Birds’ hit the bulls-eye with all of their decisions.

Obviously the fans have no real say in the matter, but if you poll them, most will tell you that they want Howie Roseman to invest in a cover guy with draft picks and with some of that $40 million.

Byron JonesJames BradberryChris Harris Jr., and Mackensie Alexander will be some of the guys who will be available. Would the ‘Birds’ be wise to invest in one or more of those guys and spend some draft capital on the position early? Do they wait and seek out wide receivers early in the selection meeting instead? How will this play out? Those are questions that will be tossed around all offseason.
