Between all of the injuries on top of some younger guys struggling to step up, cornerback turned out to be a major issue for the Eagles throughout the 2019 season.

While the verdict is still out on players such as Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox since they could still develop into the kind of cornerbacks Philadelphia needs on defense, the team should at least move on from Ronald Darby this offseason.

As great as Darby has been at times over the last three years, he’s also unfortunately dealt with some sort of injury in each of those seasons as well.

Even if the Eagles were in position to bring Darby back on a favorable deal, the last thing the team can afford is to continue wasting their time when someone better could be available.

Take a look at Daryl Worley for example, who has proven to be a reliable starter over the last four years on the Raiders and Carolina Panthers.

Looking at how Worley managed to start 15 games for the Raiders this past season, there’s a good chance the cornerback will be in for quite a hefty pay raise heading into the 2020 season since he’s done an excellent job in proving his value.

Worley isn’t going to be paid like a top cornerback in the league, but if the Eagles were to express interest, and manage to sign him on a favorable multi-year deal, this could work out perfect for both parties.
