Between Malcolm Jenkins getting up their in age on top of being unhappy over his contract situation along with Rodney McLeod becoming a free agent, the Eagles will be exploring options for safety this offseason.

In comparison to other safeties across the league, Adrian Colbert is nowhere near the same level as being one of the best, but also a move like this could work to Philadelphia’s advance spending wise.

Since signing someone like Colbert wouldn’t require breaking the bank, and provide the Eagles with some extra depth at the safety position, this seems like the kind of move that could work out great for both parties.

After spending his first three NFL seasons as a member of the Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers, it wouldn’t come as a surprise at all if Colbert ended up being on the move once again in free agency.

For a former seventh-round pick, the fact that Colbert has 17 starts to his name over the last three seasons shows how he’s arguably heading in the right direction, and should continue to get better with experience.

Plus, with all due respect to the Dolphins, if Colbert had to choose between the two teams, at least the Eagles already being on the level of a top contender in the league would make Philadelphia a more attractive destination.
