1. Sidney Jones

Without question, there have been numerous times in which Sidney Jones has come up with big plays for the Eagles on defense, but from an overall perspective, the case can be made the cornerback has been a major disappointment.

In a way, Philadelphia knew they were getting a potential steal in Jones back in 2017 when they selected him in the second round of the draft since there’s a good chance he would have gone earlier if it weren’t for the torn Achilles tendon.

Even as a rookie, the Eagles were rightfully more focused on their long-term plans with Jones than worrying about him play right away since he seemed capable of helping the defense fill their need at cornerback.

Three years later, Jones is arguably one of the most frustrating players on Philadelphia’s roster since he hasn’t exactly developed into the kind of defender the Eagles were hoping to see over the last two seasons.

With Jones heading into his fourth NFL season, Philadelphia could always decide to give Jones one final shot to prove himself in 2020 to show he can in fact develop into the necessary cornerback the Eagles need to remain a top threat in the conference.

Then again, if the concern over his development is still going to be an issue for Philadelphia, the team could pull off another surprise by deciding to move on from Jones this offseason, and use free agency or the draft to find a replacement.
