Philadelphia Eagles best and worst free agent options by position
Safety
Honorable mention: Justin Simmons
Anthony Harris has become one of the better safeties in the NFL. He turns 29 in October, but he has a solid run left in him. To be honest, that may be all that the Eagles need from him, a good three to four years and some rotational work.
Then again, if the ‘Birds’ say goodbye to Rodney McLeod, they wouldn’t miss a beat if they just threw Harris in the lineup next to Malcolm Jenkins.
Keep Justin Simmons in mind as well. He’s a nice secondary option if the Eagles can’t land Harris.
Dishonorable mention:
The Eagles fan base is sick of the secondary getting beaten in coverage. That’s not going to go away if they add Vonn Bell who gets taken advantage of easily and more often than any team would like from one of its safeties.
That leads us to Tavon Wilson whose skill set doesn’t give anyone reason to complain, but he also doesn’t satisfy Philly’s desire to get younger. he’d be ranked higher if he didn’t turn 30 in March.
