Quarterback

. . Best option: Marcus Mariota. . player. 35.

Here are the names that we can throw out in terms of free-agent options for the ‘Birds’. Tom Brady, Dak Prescott, Drew Brees, and Philip Rivers aren’t signing with Philly to play the backup role. Teddy Bridgewater isn’t either. He’s earned the right to start somewhere.

That means the Eagles are snagging someone out of that second tier of choices if indeed they’re interested in adding a quarterback.

Marcus Mariota may not be a starter in the NFL, but he’s very interesting. He’s talented, and he’s won a playoff game, something a lot of the other guys on this list and Philly’s starting quarterback haven’t done. If he isn’t on some team’s radar as an option for their starting role heading into March, he provides a nice backup option for the ‘Birds’.

. . . Worst option: Sam Bradford. . player. 32

Yes, he’s still in the league. Sam Bradford‘s name is listed here not because Philly would sign him (at least we hope not) but because he has the greatest agent in league history.

This guy’s made a fortune. How he still manages to get offers is mind-boggling. How any pro athlete would know that and sign with someone else is even more astonishing. Can you imagine the type of coin he’d earn for someone who could actually play?
