Here are ten of the best options the Philadelphia Eagles have if we examine both free agency and the NCAA options in the upcoming NFL Draft.

If we threw the incoming NCAA prospects out of the conversation and ignored NFL‘s potential free agents, excitement dwindles a tad in the Philadelphia Eagles fanbase. If the current roster was announced as the unit Philly walked into battle with on the opening weekend, the roster features JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Nelson Agholor, Deontay BurnettRobert Davis, Shelton Gibson, and Greg Ward.

The team’s two best receivers, DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery are still on the reserve/injured list. Three more, Marken MichelMarcus Green, and something called River Cracraft are each signed to future contracts.

It doesn’t take much to see why ‘Birds’ fans are hyped over the prospect of maybe landing one of the best free-agent options at the position in March and landing a couple of standouts during the upcoming NFL Draft in April. The Eagles are walking into the offseason with the most money they’ve had to spend and the most draft picks that they’ve had during the Doug Pederson era.

Philly will have plenty of options on both the draft and free-agent fronts, but there are a few that they’ll need to stay away from. A.J. Green is too old and it appears that he may stay with the Cincinnati BengalsLarry Fitzgerald is on the downside of a Hall-of-Fame career. Emmanuel Sanders turns 33 before the season begins, and he’s more of a quick fix than a long-term solution.

Philly will get the opportunity to view some of the best young potential stars during the NFL Combine’s on-field workouts. The free agency period follows shortly thereafter. Here’s a countdown of ten of the best prospects Philly will have at wide receiver form the pro and collegiate level.
