Ranking Philadelphia Eagles 10 best potential NCAA, NFL options at WR
This one’s interesting. Once guys like Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb come off of the draft boards, the fun’s going to spike if you’re an Eagles fan.
Many of us think we know who the guys that will come off of the board in the first round are. Once you get past them, the evaluation of that next tier will be key. The Eagles nailed it with the Miles Sanders selection in 2019’s draft. Might they dip into the Penn State Nittany Lions pool again and take a chance on K.J. Hamler?
His former teammate already put a good word in for him.
Hamler piques the interest of Eagles fans because he’s that speedy guy that can go deep. During his final season in ‘Happy Valley’, the five-foot-nine, 176-pound prospect contributed 56 receptions, 904 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns to the Nittany Lions’ cause.
He’s seen as one of those guys who could go late in the second round or sometime during the third. You worry about his size or throwing him in the slot and sending him across the middle of the field at the pro level because linebackers and safeties in the NFL are six-foot-four, 265 pounds and run the 40-yard dash in less than five seconds, but it’s hard to stop watching this guy’s tape once you get started.
With that being said, there has to be an interest on Philly’s part in a guy that can score on any play where he touches the ball. It’s going to be hard for the ‘Birds’ to ignore Hamler if they’re on the clock and he’s available. Grade: B-
