Does anyone else feel like the Eagles should cut their losses and just move on from Alshon Jeffery regardless of the consequences? Does anybody else just want this team to eat the cap hit and get him out of town?
What’s crazy is that the decision might be a little easier to make if JJ Arcega-Whiteside had the type of rookie season that Miles Sanders did. He did not. Ten receptions, 169 yards, and one touchdown are what the Eagles and their fans got, and that isn’t going to cut it for a second-round selection in pro football.
The good news is there’s nowhere for him to go but up, but if he bombs again in Year 2, it would be nice if the Eagles had some insurance that prevented them from having to dig into the scout team and add guys they had already dismissed in some form or fashion.
Tee Higgins is a very attractive option who caught 59 passes for 1,167 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019 for the Clemson Tigers. He’s a long six-foot-four, and he tips the scales at 200 pounds. If he blows everyone away with a nice 40-yard dash time, he could vault his way past a few of the guys pro scouts have rated higher. Grade: B-
