10 Philadelphia Eagles prospects who rose and fell at combine, WR edition
The wide receivers’ on-field workouts during the NFL Combine no doubt had a few Philadelphia Eagles fans glued to their TV screens.
Here’s some relationship advice that will take you far if you’re looking to find that significant other in the dating scene. Just because someone’s a nice catch doesn’t mean that you need to hook up with them. Compatibility is everything. Believe it or not, that can actually be related to what’s going on with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Throughout the 2019-2020 season, we had to hear about team chemistry on the offensive side of the ball, and very few of us didn’t like what we were hearing. Gossip and anonymous sources led to overthrown passes and an inability to convert on third down. Then, in a flash, things changed.
Two of the guys who were seen as being among the team’s three best receivers got hurt, Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor. Young guys who wanted to contribute stepped in, and all of a sudden, even though they were less talented, the offense looked better.
If you don’t think chemistry matters, think again, but here’s something else. If we’re talking about dating, we all want someone who’s compatible with us and good looking. If we relate the same theory to the NFL, that’s where the draft comes in.
Despite some nice stats by Carson Wentz and a division title for the Eagles in 2019, fans want more and with good reason. This team needs legitimate weapons at the wide receiver position for ’11’, and 2020’s draft class is loaded with eligible and available prospects. There’s just one thing. If anyone can screw this up, it’s Philly.
Yeah, the draft process and dating can be a crapshoot, but the Eagles have to nail their picks, especially the 21st-overall selection. Many of us believe that selection will be a wide receiver. On the combine’s first night, we got a look at just how loaded this class is. Here are three winners and losers from the first evening of workouts.
