1. Dak’s about to cause a ripple effect.

If it feels like those Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott negotiations have been going on for about a year now, it’s because we aren’t too far from that absolutely being the case. Negotiations are seemingly at a standstill, and, from the outside looking in, there appears to be no movement between the two sides.

Now, if you’re like most sports fans, you hang out on social media and you watch the NFL Network, FOX Sports 1, and ESPN, so you’ve heard this one thousand times by now. If the Cowboys can’t get a signature from their signal-caller, their plan is, in all likelihood, to franchise Mr. Prescott.

That will cause a ripple effect. You can’t sign everybody, and during the last offseason, after he took the first-ever business trip to Cabo, San Lucas, the Cowboys rewarded Ezekiel Elliott with a six-year, $90 million contract extension. $50 million of that is guaranteed and keeps him in Dallas through the 2026 season.

They’ll pay for that later. You just watch.

Now, with all of that being said, a ripple effect is on its way. The Cowboys will be forced to part ways with both Jones and superstar receiver Amari Cooper. Can you imagine what type of discussions we’ll be having if the Eagles wind up with both Cooper and Jones in the fold?

It will be hard for them to pull that off though. Keep in mind the huge deals that both will require and the fact that the Eagles have a lot of money tied up in two of their own (and oldest) receivers, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson. Now, that you mention it, let’s pump the breaks on Cooper slightly.
