Eagles Howie Roseman gives another explanation for Philly’s aging roster
Eagles vice president and general manager Howie Roseman sat with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk recently and shared a few thoughts on the coming offseason.
Every time Philadelphia Eagles vice president and general manager Howie Roseman has anything to say, it garners attention. Fans and the media are all over anything related to the ‘Birds’, what comes next, and what Philly may or may not be doing.
Ever since he spoke following the most recent Eagles season and again at the NFL Combine, fans have been stuck on his statements about ‘getting younger’ and the fact that this team’s desire is to shave some of the aging and more expensive talent and to find skill players who can serve as some help for Carson Wentz.
Then, it became apparent recently that this team may not be as close to parting ways with the 38-year-old, future Hall-of-Fame inductee Jason Peters as we once thought they were.
That’s led to questions, and that was one of the topics Roseman covered while attending 2020’s version of the combine in a recent sitdown with Mike Florio and Chris Simms of NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk. They nailed a man who less than three years ago was named Executive of the Year by the Pro Football Writers Association to a chair and asked him about everything from why this team is so old to the usual topics like whether or not Wentz has silenced the doubters.
How far is Philly from winning another Lombardi Trophy? Here are a few highlights from that conversation that ‘Birds’ fans will no doubt find interesting.
