Philadelphia Eagles: 3 reasons to avoid Nick Foles trade with Jaguars
By Dan Parzych
While the Philadelphia Eagles certainly need to bring on a backup quarterback at some point this offseason, Nick Foles is one candidate that should be avoided.
Just when it seemed like the Philadelphia Eagles were officially in the clear of any potential reunion with Nick Foles for a third time, the talk is beginning to heat up once again.
On Monday, Foles found his name part of reports surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars willing to explore trade options for the former Super Bowl MVP this offseason to pave the way for Gardner Minshew II being the starter in 2020.
As football fans remember, it was Minshew who filled in on offense for the Jaguars last season after Foles suffered a broken collarbone in Week 1, and while a move like this may seem unfair, Jacksonville is still going to do what they feel is best for the team.
Experience wise, Foles would clearly seem like the much better option, but this shows what kind of impact Minshew made during his rookie campaign when Jacksonville was in desperate need of a spark on offense.
With that being said, as much as the Jaguars may want to move on from Foles in a trade at some point during the offseason, this will be easier said than done since most teams are already set at the quarterback position, or plan to select one in April during the draft.
At least for the Eagles, this is one team that should be able to rule out any possible reunion with Foles, and there are plenty of factors to support this claim.
So as much as some fans would love to see another reunion between Foles and Philadelphia, here are three reasons why the team should avoid any trade with the Jaguars.
