3. Foles clearly prefers to start

Around this time last year, one of the most popular topics of discussion was whether the Eagles would be better off sticking with Foles under center or if the offense should give it another go with Carson Wentz.

As great as Foles was in each of the previous two seasons helping Philadelphia bring home their first Super Bowl title in franchise history along with an impressive run to the Divisional Round the year after, Wentz was always going to be the best long-term option on offense.

So while it was difficult at the time last offseason for the Eagles to allow Foles to hit free agency, this was the best option for both parties at the end of the day, especially since Foles knew this would be his best chance at earning a starting job.

By bringing Foles back into the picture for the Eagles, he would simply be returning to the role of least preference as a backup once again to Wentz.

Sure, Foles would most likely be thrilled to reunite with some of his former teammates from the previous two years leading up to the 2019 season, but whether he would be truly thrilled over his reduced role would be a different story.
