Fortunately for the Philadelphia Eagles, there are several cornerbacks who should be available in the second round that provide value.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. How many offseasons in a row have we been discussing the Philadelphia Eagles and their need to find suitable answers at the cornerback and wide receiver position? It was the huge story heading into the 2017 season, and it’s seemingly been an issue ever since.

What’s sad is, even in years where they appear to be in good shape (2019 for instance), things start falling apart once the regular season begins, especially from the standpoint of injuries. For all of the things that Eagles vice president and general manager Howie Roseman does well, he hasn’t drafted wideouts and cover guys with much success.

Actually, if you remove the wide receivers and corners, Roseman’s drafts don’t look terrible. Now, we all know that you can’t do that, but if you’re just looking for a nice talking point, that’s a good place to start.

If you follow the Eagles and if Philly’s brass is of the same mindset as the fans and media, the general consensus is the ‘Birds’ will invest in a wide receiver in Round 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft. If that is, indeed, the plan, they may go with a cover guy in Round 2.

Jeffrey Okudah, C.J. Henderson, Damon Arnette, and Trevon Diggs have distanced themselves as the four best corners in this class. They all figure to go in Round 1. Here are five guys who provide decent value in Round 2.
