10 candidates for Eagles at No. 21 in 2020 NFL Draft following combine
By Dan Parzych
Over the last couple of months, Philadelphia seemed like the perfect landing spot for Henry Ruggs III since other receivers such as CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy were expected to go before the Crimson Tide star wideout.
And while this could very well still turn out to be the case, an impressive outing at the combine could result in Ruggs being well off the board before the Eagles are on the clock in the first round.
By showing off his blazing speed in the 40-yard dash, Ruggs is all of a sudden being viewed as a player who could be selected earlier in than expected in the first round, and the 18 touchdown catches over the last two years at Alabama certainly help his case as well.
No matter what the Eagles decide to do with their current situation at wide receiver, the offense still needs another playmaker to come on board to help make life easier for Wentz under center.
If Ruggs can prove to be the reliable option Wentz needs to keep the offense in great shape for Philadelphia, this could be another situation in which the Eagles should strongly consider trading up if needed.
At the end of the day, Ruggs seems like the kind of playmaker who would make the trade worth it for the Eagles.
