Heading into 2020’s NFL Draft, there’s seemingly a league-wide need for wide receivers, and cornerbacks, and offensive lineman. Truthfully, that can be said about every selection meeting, but there are a couple of other draft narratives that you may hear more consistently as we move past the free-agency period and into April.

The buzz around the running back and safety positions doesn’t seem to be as loud. Xavier McKinney is the best in this class’ bunch, and he should go somewhere in the top 25. After he’s taken, however, it’s hard to get a real feel of who gets their name called second and when.

Most would agree that Grant Delpit is the second-best safety in this class, but is he a first-round option? Could he actually slip into the second round? If he does, he could wind up being the Eagles choice in Round 2?

Once we got started with the draft discussions, no one imagined a scenario where Philly would land two LSU Tigers with their first two picks. They still may not, but if wide receiver Justin Jefferson is the pick at 21 and if Delpit hears his name called by the ‘Birds’ in Round 2, that will be exactly what’s happened. No one will complain if that’s the scenario.
