Jacob Phillips has a little work to do if he’s going to rise on a few draft boards. Being one of the standouts on the roster of the winners of the College Football Playoff’s National Championship Game has its advantages. The LSU Tigers Pro Day is scheduled for April 3rd, and you can expect for every NFL team to be in attendance.

As of right now, the six-foot-four, 233-pound Phillips gets a grade of 5.90 by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein in his draft profile which means, currently, he’s a potential backup or someone with special teams potential.

In 2019, he racked up 113 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup. You know how his collegiate career ended. Then, he got an invite to the NFL Combine where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds.

He’ll want to see if he can improve on that at LSU’s Pro Day, but there isn’t much to complain about with a guy that showcased a 39-inch vertical and a 126-inch broad jump before conquering the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle in 7.38 seconds and 4.33 seconds respectively.
