Philadelphia Eagles scouting: Top 10 free-agent prospects at safety
Here’s a guy that didn’t get enough credit on a very good roster. Gosh, we all know they aren’t, but sometimes, doesn’t it feel like the San Francisco 49ers are letting twenty guys walk? Well, one team’s loss is another team’s gain, but Jimmie Ward will be missed by his fans in the Bay is he’s allowed to get out of the building.
251 tackles, three sacks, 29 pass breakups, and two picks were the results of 64 career games. He turns 29 years old in July, so he’s still got a few great years left. This dude is about to get paid.
Anthony Harris will celebrate his 29th birthday shortly after the regular season begins (October to be exact). He’s without question one of the NFL’s top performers at the safety position, and he’s the cream of this list’s crop.
60 tackles and six picks in 2019 give him a whopping 180 total tackles, nine picks, 21 pass breakups, a forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries for his 65-game career in Minneapolis with the Minnesota Vikings. Like Ward, he’ll command a nice-sized salary, but if he landed with the Eagles, they’d immediately jump right back in the championship discussion. We’ll have to wait and see if they show any interest. March 16th update: The Minnesota Vikings are franchising him.
