1. Eagles make roster decisions on Hassan Ridgeway and Corey Clement.

Recently, the ITI staff asked a question, and that question was about the possibility of Corey Clement returning to the Eagles’ nest in 2020. It appears that we have our answer on that one.

Had the Eagles decided to place a restricted free agent tender on him, the former undrafted rookie would have still been allowed to seek offers of employment from other teams, but the ‘Birds’ would have been allowed to match any offer that he would have been given. It appears the franchise doesn’t even see that as being necessary.

Philly announced on March 16th that they won’t place the aforementioned tender on Clement. He’s now free to sign with whomever he chooses, and the ‘Birds’ will roll into 2020 with, at minimum, Miles Sanders and Boston Scott in the lineup at tailback. Might they also be thinking about Jordan Howard or has someone else caught their eye? We’ll have to wait and see on that front.

Philly made some moves on the defensive side of the ball as well as they also announced that they would extend Hassan Ridgeway. The news of that decision came about an hour before the news broke of what their intentions were for Clement. As you all know, Philly already has Fletcher Cox, and Malik Jackson is set to return to the team after suffering an injury in 2020. Knowing that Ridgeway will be in the fold gives them a nice rotation at defensive tackle for the upcoming season.
