Here’s a ranking of the top ten Philadelphia Eagles 2020 NFL Draft safety prospects not named Grant Delpit or Xavier McKinney.

It’s funny how things change. We can all chuckle about how wrong we were. It’s almost knee-slapping and side-splitting comedy when things change in a matter of weeks. Things that we thought were the gospel in February appear to be ridiculous in March. Here’s one that you may have heard. A month ago, there was this huge contingent that believed the Philadelphia Eagles had a chance at landing Henry Ruggs III with the 21st-overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, and a cornerback would be the wise selection for Round 2.

Not even 30 days later, Ruggs ran a 4.2-second 40, the thought that he’d even be available at 21 now seems impossible, and Philly seems to be all in on this idea of landing Byron Jones in free agency.

That would make the need for a corner less stressful. Sure, they would still need to draft one, but seeing as how the draft class isn’t as deep at safety as it is at, say, wide receiver, taking someone to help man the backend of Philly’s defense may be a better plan of action for the second-round draft choice than taking a corner. That can wait until Round 3.

Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod‘s futures with the team are up in the air, and even if Philly kept both on staff for 2020, they still need someone to add depth. Grant Delpit and Xavier McKinney figure to get snatched up early, so here are ten more options as we count down the best prospects not named Delpit or McKinney.
