Who would have thought 365 days ago that we’d be talking about the top five safeties in the upcoming NFL Draft and wed be mentioning the Southern Illinois Salukis from the mighty Missouri Valley Conference and the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears of the South Atlantic Conference?

That’s exactly what we’re doing though. Let this be a lesson to you kids out there with dreams of NFL stardom. If you work hard and ball out, the pro scouts will find you. Everybody doesn’t have to go play for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In his final season in Carbondale, Illinois, Jeremy Chinn turned heads with 71 stops, four picks, and three pass breakups before impressing with his play and personality at the Senior Bowl.

Then, he scored 20 reps on the bench in Indy before showcasing a 41-inch vertical, a 138-inch broad jump, and a 4.45-second 40-yard dash. If the Eagles wind up with this guy at 53, throw a party. If they wind up with this next guy, throw a parade.
