Even if the Eagles decide to sign another safety in free agency, chances are the defense will still look to add another player at the position during April once the draft gets underway.

With the No. 21 pick in the first round, Philadelphia should have numerous strong options to consider when looking at all of the positions in need of improvement, one of which could be safety.

Depending on whether his stock ends up rising over the next few weeks, Antoine Winfield Jr. is one name worth keeping an eye on in regards to the Eagles since the Minnesota product could be available in the second round as well.

Injuries have been a concern for Winfield in the past, but the 2019 season in which he recorded seven interceptions shows what he could bring to the table once making the transition to the NFL, whether he happens to be on the Eagles or another team.

The good news is if Philadelphia does end up expressing interest in Winfield early on, there’s a good chance he won’t be selected before they’re on the clock at No. 21.

Winfield is nowhere near the same level as Jenkins for obvious reasons since he has yet to take a single snap in the NFL, but having potential is always exciting.
