After missing out on DeAndre Hopkins, should the Philadelphia Eagles consider another trade for a wideout during the 2020 offseason?

With the Philadelphia Eagles in need of an upgrade at the wide receiver position, there was hope on Monday the team would somehow find a way to be part of the potential trade talks surrounding DeAndre Hopkins.

Unfortunately, the Eagles never got in on the action after the Arizona Cardinals acquired the star wideout in what can best be described as an absolute steal when hearing what the Houston Texans received in return.

Since joining the NFL in 2013, Hopkins wasted little time becoming one of the league’s wide receivers, and one can only imagine how devastated Deshaun Watson must be feeling now that he has to move forward without one of his most reliable targets.

As for Philadelphia, well with the legal tampering period officially underway before moves can become official on Wednesday, most of the attention surrounding the team will be on whether the Eagles make a big move for a big playmaker at wide receiver.

Even though the Eagles never actually came out expressing interest in a potential trade involving Hopkins, when taking into consideration that Arizona didn’t even have to give up a first-round pick, it’s difficult not to wonder what could have been for Philadelphia.

Between all their draft picks along with certain players who could have been used as part of a trade, there is every reason to believe the Eagles could have found some sort of way to pull off a deal.

Now that Hopkins is officially off the board, could Philadelphia find a way to pull off a different trade for another big-name receiver?

To have a little fun in honor of the new league year, here are five other receivers the Eagles should consider as trade targets after dropping the ball on Hopkins.
